Fmr. Group CEO of African Sun Limited

    Dr Shingi Munyeza is a visionary leader endowed with diverse skills. He has both qualifications and vast experience as an accountant, marketer and hospitality practitioner. He was the Group Chief Executive of African Sun Limited, the largest hotel group in Zimbabwe, from 2002 until 31 March 2015, when he stepped down to pursue personal interests in franchising, telecoms and renewable energy. This being part of his calling as a marketplace apostle in advancing the kingdom of God.
    He is the Master Franchisee for the following food franchises in Zimbabwe; Oceanbasket, Mugg and Bean, Smooch Frozen Yoghurt, Newscafe and Simply Asia.

    He is a recipient of the prestigious “Industry Mover and Shaker” award by the Hospitality Investment Conference Africa (HICA) in 2010 for his outstanding contribution to the hospitality industry across the African continent.

    He was conferred an honorary Doctorate in Business Administration and Development by Solusi University in 2010, in recognition of his immense contribution to the development of tourism in Zimbabwe and across the African continent.
    He was also recipient of “Investing in Zimbabwe’s future” debut Corporate Social Responsibility Award 2010 by American Business Association of Zimbabwe (ABAZ)
    He is the Institute of Directors award winner for 2008 and won the Tourism Personality of the Year for four years running from 2002 to 2005.
    He was awarded as one of the most influential entrepreneurs after independence in 2013 by Empretec Zimbabwe.
    Dr Munyeza was also the senior Pastor of Faith Ministries Zimbabwe for 12years. Faith Ministries has over 40 congregations in Zimbabwe.
    He is the current president of the Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe A fellowship and organisation of Evangelical churches in Zimbabwe with over 500 denominations countrywide.
    He is married to Wilma and they have one daughter, Nomsa.
    In 2017, he was awarded Lifetime Leadership Achievement Award by the Zimbabwe Institute of
    Management in recognition of contribution and dedication to developing and promoting best
    practices in management and leadership.
